Step 2: Digital Restoration – Turning Back the Clock (Virtually)
Faded Colors: Restoring vibrancy and correcting color shifts (like that classic 70s orange tint) is common. Our standard scanning service even includes automatic enhancement that significantly improves many faded photos!
Yellowing/Staining: Neutralizing yellow casts from age or removing localized stains (like water marks or foxing spots, if not too severe).
Tears & Rips: Digitally mending torn edges or even reconstructing missing pieces if the tear goes through a crucial area (requires skill!).
Creases & Folds: Smoothing out the appearance of creases that detract from the image.

Important Note: Digital restoration is distinct from basic scanning/enhancement. While our included enhancement works wonders on fading and contrast, fixing tears, severe stains, or missing pieces typically requires manual, specialized restoration work, which is often priced separately based on the complexity.
What Can (and Can't) Be Fixed?
Often Fixable: Fading, color casts, moderate tears, creases, dust, scratches, some types of stains, red-eye.
Challenging or Impossible: Extremely blurry/out-of-focus photos (can't create detail that isn't there), photos with huge sections missing (especially faces), severe mold/water damage that has obliterated the image layer, photos stuck firmly to glass.
